Claudia Tarbell is an enrolled member of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and was born and raised on the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory. She currently serves as the Senior Engagement Manager for the Senior Engagement Manager for Tribal and Indigenous Communitities at Calix, where she works with Tribal nations across North America to raise awareness of exisiting tribally owned broadband networks and build broadband programs that support the communtities long term needs.
Claudia began her broadband career with Mohawk Networks, LLC wholly owned by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, that brings fiber optic connectivity to the underserved are of the Akwesasne territory. The team at Mohawk Networks, LLC focused on providing a great customer experience for their subscribers which contributes to meaningful improvements in local access to education, economic opportunity and job creation.
Throughout her career, Claudia has been a strong voice for tribal-led broadband development. Her commitment to culturally grounded and community driven solutions has earned her recognition as one of the Fiber Broadband Association's "Fiber Under 40" emerging leaders. She is also an active contributor to the Tribal Broadband Bootcamp, where she shares her expertise to help guide other through the process of building and managing tribal broadband networks.
At Fiber Connect, Claudia will speak on Empowering Tribes by Creating Broadband Programs that Respect Sovereignty, highlighting practical strategies and lessons learned from her work with tribal communitities.
