Precision OT’s PON Extender Technology is a patent-pending, low noise approach to WDM amplification that enables truly passive and extended reach PON links for distances up to 80km (for a 1x32 split). This PoC demonstrates how this technology sits next to an OLT in the hub/central office, travels through 65km of fiber, a 1x64 splitter, and interoperates with multiple different ONTs. The PoC demonstrates error free transmission of the full XGS-PON data throughput across an extended reach PON network utilizing all standard(non-specialized) XGS-PON equipment just by using the PON Extender Technology.
